a week of journal prompts: august 12 – august 18

Hey lovelies! I hope you’re having a great day (or night) wherever you are!

Journaling is so important to me and has really helped me in learning about myself and easing my mind. I’m a heavy over-thinker so journaling every morning gives me a foundation towards a great day. It also helps settle my mind and work through my thoughts in a way that doesn’t create drama or cause any problems for anyone else. That’s why I thought it’d be a great idea to give you guys weekly journal prompts!

I always gratitude journal in the mornings, which is really just me listing things I’m grateful for. It helps me see the good in everything, even when life seems really miserable. I also like to journal about my dreams or any lingering thoughts that might have been bothering me.

These prompts will help get the writing flowing (especially if you’re not used to journaling) or just give you new ideas!

  1. What are you most grateful for in your life?
  2. What does success mean to you?
  3. What is one habit you wish to implement in your daily life?
  4. Reflect on a moment from today (or yesterday) that made you feel truly present. What were you doing and how did it make you feel?
  5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What steps can you take today to eventually live your dream life?
  6. What’s something you take granted for in life, and how can you express your gratitude?
  7. Would your younger self be proud of you? If not, what can you do to make them proud?

I hope you enjoy these prompts! Don’t try to put a time on answering these; for me it takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour when I journal. Realize that this is a mindful exercise to better yourself, so try to set the mood and eliminate as many distractions as possible. I always light a candle and dim the lights when I write, as well as putting my phone across the room.
